Here are some images from Mrs. Lagoy's class as they begin their Clay Weaving Project. We have a focus on Texture with this project. Not only do we stamp textures into the clay, but the final product is a texture dichotomy; hard clay, soft woven yarn, and smooth plastic beads.

Enjoy these images of Mrs. Castilla's class as the weave and paint their projects!

3rd grade is starting off the year with a Picasso inspired drawing. We will be looking at a Rooster painting by Pablo Picasso. Our focus of this project will be on the use of line to create texture and the use of complementary colors as a color scheme!

3rd Grades are starting the year off with a project inspired by the artist Robert Delaunay and focusing on creating Rhythm in their artwork. We also began our project with a PowerPoint introduction about the artist, and as a class discussed how he used rhythm in his own "circle paintings." We then set to creating our own Delaunay inspired rhythmic circle compositions. Instead of painting, we will be using oil pastels to add color to our projects. They look great so far, I am excited to post photos of their work when they have finished.
