Arongen Artists, this opportunity was brought to my attention from an Arongen Parent. If your student or family would like to make cards and participate, you can send them into school and I will collect. This would be a wonderful opportunity to spread Thanksgiving warmth throughout our community, and a wonderful family project that could be done on a rainy day.

Equinox (St. Peter's) is diligently preparing for its Annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner.  As part of this genuine community effort, Equinox reaches out to local schools and businesses for assistance.  Many schools will conduct a food drive to provide items for the dinner.  Equinox has been fortunate to receive a wonderful response that has fulfilled their food needs.
BUT, Equinox has other ways that schools can get involved.  It would be great to see Shenendehowa participate in any capacity that it can, to rise to the occasion as it always does to show our school spirit…Shen strong.

Invite students to create Thanksgiving Day cards that would be given to recipients with their meals when they are delivered (Equinox has over 3,500 volunteers that deliver 9,500 meals to those in need within a 40-mile radius of Albany; they have a few other groups that make cards too, so the entire 9,500 would not be left to Shen);  students are welcome to sign the cards or put labels on the cards that read:  Especially made for you by the students at [Name of School], Shenendehowa School District.  OR  Especially made by you by [student’s first name and grade] at [Name of School], Shenendehowa School District.  Equinox would pick up the cards and would need them by November 20th.  This would be a great project for PTA to coordinate with ELA or art teachers or include it as part of a current activity.
