2015-2016 School Year!

Hi Everyone! We are in full swing in the art room here at Arongen! First projects and some second projects are finishing up! Pictures will be posted soon!
Parents of First graders keep an eye out for their first clay projects! We made beautiful coil pumpkins! (If they break on the way home hot glue is a great way to mend ;))
5th Graders have just finished their metal tooling landscapes. These are hanging in the hall and they are Fabulous! They are now working on a quick Van Gogh Landscape as an introduction to Perspective.
4th Graders have finished their Day of the Dead Skulls, and are working on a Romero Britto inspired pumpkin painting that is a study of tints and shades.
3rd Graders have finished their warm and cool colored fish and are working on a color mixing light bulb painting! They look awesome!
2nd Graders have finished their Monet bridge paintings, are finishing up their color mixing paintings and are starting to work on Laurel Burch inspired cat or dog paintings. (The animal is there choice!)
As I said at the beginning of this post, 1st Graders are bring home their coil pumpkins this week, and last week finished their monster collages. These were based on the book, Lines that Wiggle. We will be starting George Rodrigue Blue Dog paintings this week!
As always, please check the back of your students work for a label that will explain the inspiration for the project and the concepts that were taught.
Pictures to be posted soon!

  1. Hello Mrs. Hallenbeck,

We love the work Alex brings home from your class. It is so creative and fun. We were floored by the George Rodrigue Blue Dog painting. Thank you for all you do with the children :-) We are looking forward to seeing what Alex will bring home next.

    Best Regards,

    Angelique
